Kanye West Urges U.S. Rappers to Learn Business from Nigerians, Jews, Chinese, and Indians

A merican rapper Kanye West has criticized the business acumen of most U.S. artistes, stating that they lack financial independence and rely too much on foreign investors and lawyers to manage their careers.

During an interview with DJ Akademiks, Kanye argued that many rappers are financially uninformed, contrasting them with Nigerians, Jews, Chinese, and Indians, whom he praised for their strong business strategies and entrepreneurial mindset.

Kanye’s Harsh Critique of Fellow Artistes

“None of these [rappers] are as smart as me,” West declared. “I can’t say for the tech dudes… But artistes are dumb, bro. It’s like, they can’t even f*king count, bro.”

He claimed that Jewish lawyers and investors dominate the U.S. music and entertainment industry, controlling record labels and TV networks, while many rappers remain dependent on external financiers instead of owning their brands.

“Go and ask them to run a whole record label without a Jewish person… Go and set up your whole TV network, make it run, no Jewish investor, let me see how that works,” he said.

Praise for Nigerian Entrepreneurs

Kanye applauded Nigerians, Chinese, Indians, and Jews for their entrepreneurial drive, arguing that American artistes should emulate them by taking ownership of their businesses.

“Until motherf*kers can really get their stuff together like the Nigerians, the Chinese, the Jewish, or like the tech Indian or some sht, everything I’m saying counts,” he added.

West has long been vocal about financial independence and ownership in the entertainment industry. His latest comments reignite debates about artists’ financial literacy and the influence of investors in the music business.
