Nigerian Tech Leader Trains Youths in Blockchain and Web3 for Free

 7th April 2025 — Lagos, Nigeria

I n a bold move to equip young Nigerians with cutting-edge digital skills, Nigerian tech entrepreneur Hanu Fejiro has launched a no-cost training programme in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and decentralised finance (DeFi) — an initiative aimed at driving financial empowerment through education.

The online programme, which runs on Telegram, provides an accessible platform for participants to learn, interact, and earn as they build real-world experience in digital finance. Over 300 participants have already taken part in the first two cohorts, held in March 2024 and February 2025, with sessions concluding at the end of March.

Fejiro, speaking about the initiative, said the project reflects his lifelong mission to democratise digital knowledge and unlock hidden potential among young people. “What if the solution to the world’s biggest problems lies in a mind that never had access to education?” he asked. “We must do everything possible to empower people, regardless of age or background.”

His broader goal? To train one million people in his lifetime, helping them thrive in the evolving digital economy and carve paths toward financial independence.

The curriculum offers more than theory — it blends essential knowledge in crypto fundamentals, blockchain use cases, and cybersecurity with interactive sessions led by industry professionals. Participants also earn rewards as they apply new skills in live, practical scenarios — a model designed to foster both learning and economic opportunity.

As the Web3 ecosystem grows — from the rising popularity of Bitcoin ETFs and stablecoins for international payments to emerging blockchain networks like Arbitrum and Base — new career paths are opening in areas like product management, NFT strategy, DeFi analytics, and blockchain development.

Participants from the training have praised the programme for its impact. “This training completely changed the way I understand blockchain and digital currencies,” said Iyanuoluwa, a recent trainee. “I now feel confident exploring new opportunities in this fast-changing space.”

Kareem, another participant, shared how the programme sharpened his insight into token trends and airdrops. “I’ve learned to track promising projects and stay engaged in the ecosystem. This has been an eye-opening and productive experience.”

Godwin, also from the cohort, noted the programme’s practical value: “I’ve discovered ways to track wallet activity from top traders, verify airdrops, and avoid scams. These are real tools for success.”

Fejiro hinted at further expansion of the initiative, revealing plans to award 100 scholarships to Nigerian youths for a tech diploma through AltSchool Africa, empowering even more individuals with the technical skills needed in the digital age.

The next round of the Web3 and crypto training kicks off on April 28, 2025, and interested participants are encouraged to apply via Fejiro’s social media platforms.
