Video Reveals Final Moments of Aid Workers Killed by Israeli Forces in Gaza

A harrowing video recovered from the phone of a slain aid worker in Gaza reveals the final moments before a deadly Israeli military strike that claimed the lives of 15 humanitarian responders, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The footage, lasting six minutes and 42 seconds, shows marked ambulances and emergency vehicles with flashing lights navigating the dark streets under a barrage of automatic gunfire. Captured from inside a moving vehicle, the video contradicts claims by the Israeli military that its forces did not knowingly target ambulances.

At one point in the footage, emergency vehicles are seen halting beside another car. Two uniformed men exit before the sound of heavy gunfire erupts, and the video abruptly ends in darkness. In the final seconds, a medic can be heard reciting the shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith, underscoring the chaos and fear in their last moments.

The Israeli military has defended the strike, claiming that it targeted “suspicious” vehicles operating without clearance and with lights turned off. However, the PRCS refuted this, stating that the video provides clear evidence that the aid convoy was visibly marked and operating with emergency signals.

Among the dead were eight PRCS staff members, six personnel from the Gaza Civil Defence, and one employee of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). All were laid to rest in a mass grave near Rafah.

The United Nations reported that the initial strike occurred at dawn, with subsequent aid teams also targeted as they attempted to reach their wounded colleagues.

The deaths of the aid workers have drawn international outrage and renewed calls for an independent investigation into potential violations of international humanitarian law.
